Let’s talk about the 1000W Halogen Infrared Heater
When we built these 1000W halogen lamps, we wanted something that didn’t just “warm up,” but hit hard and fast. Most heaters just sit there glowing. Not these. By using a halogen gas fill, we can keep the filament scorching hot without the tungsten evaporating away too quickly. It’s a clever little trick that keeps your heat steady and makes the lamp actually last. The power side of things At 1000W, you’re dealing with a lot of concentrated energy. The heat is almost instant. If you’re running an egg incubator, for example, that’s a lifesaver because you can hit your temperature targets exactly when you need to. But a heads-up: these are sensitive to your power supply. If your voltage jumps around too much, you’re going to fry the filament. Just make sure your controllers can handle that initial surge of power when you first flip the switch. Keeping things safe Industrial shops can be messy—dust, fumes, you name it. We didn’t want these lamps accidentally starting a fire, so we tucked them into explosion-proof casings. The quartz envelope is what keeps the halogen cycle moving. It’s tough, but remember, it’s still glass. If you’re putting these in an outdoor setup, give them some armor. One stray rock or a clumsy tool, and you’ve got a crack. Getting it installed The best part? These usually slide right into existing industrial arrays without a fight. Because they react so quickly, you have to be careful. Shortwave IR digs deep into surfaces fast. If you mount the lamp too close to your target, you’ll scorch it before you even realize it. My advice? Use a PID controller to pulse the power. It keeps the element from running at 100% all the time, which means it won’t burn out nearly as fast. And please, use high-temperature leads. Nobody wants to see their insulation melt into a puddle near the terminals.
