Let’s talk about gold-coated halogen lamps. Now, they might sound fancy, but they’re really just a clever way to stop wasting heat. If you’ve used a standard clear quartz tube, you know the heat goes everywhere—basically a 360-degree blast. That’s fine if you’re heating a room, but usually, you only care about one specific spot. That’s where the gold comes in. We add a thin layer of gold to the back of the tube, which essentially turns the lamp into a mirror.
