It keeps the filament from burning out too early, so you aren’t constantly swapping out dead bulbs in the middle of a run. Depending on how much heat you need per inch, you can grab these in 300W, 500W, or 800W.
Picking the Right Heat
The wavelength is what actually matters here. It’s all about how deep that heat sinks into the paper. If you just need to dry the surface fast, short-wave IR is your best bet. It’s intense and reacts instantly. But if you’re dealing with materials that are really soaked through, medium-wave options usually soak in better. We also have three different quartz finishes to help you dial things in: *Clear: This is the “full blast” option. Maximum heat, straight through. *Ruby: This one cuts out the glare and the shorter wavelengths, targeting specific spots instead. *Gold: This reflects some energy back into the filament. It basically makes the tube run hotter on the surface.
A Few Tips on Setup
These are designed to be drop-in replacements, so they fit right into your existing IR arrays. Just one thing: double-check your power supply. If the wattage doesn’t match, you’ll get voltage drops, and that’s a quick way to kill a filament. Also, a heads-up on the 800W tubes. They put out amassiveamount of heat. You’ll want to make sure your housing is well-vented and your cooling system can handle the load. If the air stays trapped, you risk overheating the ends of the lamps.
