We built these spiral wire halogen heating lamps for the industrial jobs where space is tight and you need heat—fast. Power, Voltage, and Size: The Practical Details
Here’s the core setup: these lamps are engineered for 2500W at 400V. That higher voltage keeps the current lower, which means you can use smaller wiring and reduce stress on your connections. The 300mm length? It’s a sweet spot. Long enough to give you a solid heating zone, but not so long that you have to redesign your whole heater block. And yeah, we keep the overall length and the active heating length tight on tolerance. Because when you’re spot heating, precision matters.
Inside the Lamp: Halogen, Quartz, and a Solid Connection
At the heart of it is a spiral tungsten wire, sitting inside a quartz tube filled with halogen gas. That halogen chemistry does something smart: it redeposits evaporated tungsten back onto the filament. So the lamp fights blackening and stays bright longer. The quartz tube handles the extreme filament temperatures and lets shortwave infrared pass through cleanly. For the ends, we use R7s connectors. They’re secure, two-contact, and make wiring quick and repeatable. If your setup needs a different footprint, we can also do SK15.
Why It Works: High Heat, Real Trade-offs
This design shines when you need serious heat in a small space—like PET blowing and other plastic processing steps that demand fast, localized heating. The spiral shape packs a lot of resistance into a compact area, so you get high heat density without taking up room. But here’s the catch: it runs hot.
