When we built the 300W R7s, we weren’t thinking about lighting up a room. We were thinking about heat. Specifically, the kind of heat that hits hard and fast. Think of these as linear infrared heaters. Inside, there’s a tungsten filament tucked into a quartz envelope. We add a halogen gas cycle in there to keep the filament from burning out too quickly. It’s a simple setup, but it gets the job done. The nitty-gritty on power At 300W, you’re getting a steady stream of warmth across the whole tube. It’s perfect for those medium-duty jobs where you need consistent temperature. And the R7s base? It’s just a snap-in connection. We chose that because machines vibrate. A lot. This keeps the lamp seated tight so you aren’t dealing with flickers or outages. Plus, when it’s time to replace one, you just pop it out and put a new one in. No need to rip apart your wiring. Why quartz matters If you’re cycling power on and off all day, your hardware takes a beating. That’s why we use quartz glass. It handles those wild temperature swings without cracking. The halogen cycle does something else, too. It keeps the glass crystal clear. No blackened gunk building up inside. That means the heat keeps flowing at the same rate from day one until the end of the lamp’s life. Real-world tips (and a few warnings) You’ll usually see these working hard in PET blowing machines, drying tunnels, or heat sealers. They reach target temps incredibly fast. But a word of caution: these things gethot. Like, really hot. Keep them away from anything that could catch fire. Also, if you’re running them at 100% all the time, make sure you’ve got some decent airflow. Otherwise, you might melt your socket housing. One last thing—keep your reflectors clean. A bit of dust might not seem like much, but it kills your infrared throw. Oh, and every few months, give those R7s contacts a quick check for oxidation. It’ll save you from those annoying voltage drops.
